Gurkenblüte - mittlerweile ist der ganze Stock befallen : ( aber eine Gurke haben wir noch geerntet / Cucumber Flower ... in the meantime the entire plant has been attacked and is dying from what I believe to be Aphids (little bugger on the back of the leave :/

 Bärbel protecting the three eggs! Great success at last (even if we don't get them as regularly yet) /Drei Eier beschützt von Mama Bärbel - die Dame sitzt den ganzen Tage, aber zumindest gibt es jetzt fast täglich Ei : )
Ima and Bonnie hanging out (pushed by my french-meat-loving-boyfriend, Bonnie might be pregnant again - at least the 'sign' of her partner falling on his side and exclaiming a small scream after mating happened last week - We will know for sure in 3 more weeks : ) / Ima und unser Hase Bonnie - gedrängt von meinem Fleisch-liebenden Freund ist Bonnie wohlmöglich wieder schwanger - zumindest viel Clyde (ihr Partner) wie im Internet beschrieben auf seine Seite, mit einem kleinen Stöhner; in 3 wochen wissen wir mehr...

Echt spannend die Entwicklung bei euch zu beobachten. Ich hoffe dass Ihr nicht mehr so hohe Ernteausfälle habt und euren Ertrag noch erhöhen könnt.

"Accra Accra" - how the Trotros keep the city moving

Sometimes I wish I would have chosen Trotros as the center of my research.  These mini-buses/transporters that are furnished with four row of seat in the back,  and on average hold 15 + people, including a driver and a "mate" who collects the fees and tells the driver when to stop.  In the past two months I have spent most of my time either waiting for a Tro to arrive, inside one of them (waiting for the bus to fill us in one of the many stations so we can start the journey) or sitting in traffic of Accra (which has be the great majority).  Seemingly uncoordinated and superficial chaotically organized the thousands of mini-buses make Accra move.  Here a pic on one parked on the side of the road in Jamestown... probably waiting to fill up ...or taking a break More soon...
