nine chickens and no eggs / neun Huehner und kein Ei!?!

I love our chickens.  I really do. We have nine of them now: Babara, Magareth, Heide, Ute, Baerbel, Renate, Iris, and the two "ameliorated" chickens. But they are not laying eggs. As expected. None today. We have had a lady make chicken food (i.e. food for the chickens, not of the chickens). I have worked hours to make them sit and sleep comfortably - but they seemingly not appreciate the effort. Chickens: Where are my eggs???

Neun Hühner haben wir nun: Babara, Magareth, Heide, Ute, Baerbel, Renate, Iris, und zwei "extra Grosse". Ich weiss die Damen brauchen Zeit um sich einzugewöhnen, wir haben auch oft 2 Eier. Aber gestern und heute schon wieder keins. Kein einziges. Hühner, ich liebe euch, aber wo sind meine Eier.  

Fakt des Tages: Nur weil du Hühner hast, gibt's noch lange keine Eier.  
Schade.

"Accra Accra" - how the Trotros keep the city moving

Sometimes I wish I would have chosen Trotros as the center of my research.  These mini-buses/transporters that are furnished with four row of seat in the back,  and on average hold 15 + people, including a driver and a "mate" who collects the fees and tells the driver when to stop.  In the past two months I have spent most of my time either waiting for a Tro to arrive, inside one of them (waiting for the bus to fill us in one of the many stations so we can start the journey) or sitting in traffic of Accra (which has be the great majority).  Seemingly uncoordinated and superficial chaotically organized the thousands of mini-buses make Accra move.  Here a pic on one parked on the side of the road in Jamestown... probably waiting to fill up ...or taking a break More soon...
