Wenn der Regen kommt…/When it rains
Wenn der Regen kommt
Dann bleiben wir zu Hause
: ) So ist das hier in Mbandaka. Wenn es regnet kommt alles zum erliegen.
Egal welches meeting du
hast oder wenn du erwartest – wenn es
regnet kommt keiner.
When it rains
When it rains, everything stops. Everybody stays where they are. People will - of course - not show up for a meeting, for work, not even a taxi is available. No little stores set up on the side of the road - you don't get your bread for breakfast. Your workers will be late. When it stops raining the prices go up on the market - after all it less supply, while the people struggle to make it there. That is what happens without cars, public transportation, and wellies ; )
Everything moves slower in Mbandaka - not only because of the rain, but also because of it.
